Frequently-asked Questions

Is there plenty of car parking?

There is space for at least 100 cars.  It is all on hard-standing.  Our Front-of-House team will be on hand to direct you.  We ask that you reverse into each bay as this makes it easier to unload your picnic and safer when cars are leaving after the performance.

How far is it from the car-park to the grandstands

It is no more than a five-minute walk from the car park to the gardens, even with picnic hampers!

Are the grandstands covered?

Yes ─ there is a canopy high over each grandstand, so although the actors might get wet if it rains, you won't!  The seating is raked but there is no Hearing Aid Loop.

I have difficulty with walking.  Isn't there anywhere nearer that I can park?

A small parking area is available to those who have a Cotswold Arcadians Disabled Parking Pass (a Blue Badge alone is not sufficient).  This is much nearer to the grandstands and picnic area.  To reserve a place please call 01285 898 019 and leave a message with your contact telephone number and email address, or email [email protected], so that we can send you the Pass for your windscreen.  The Front-of-House team will then redirect you to that dedicated area.

Can you accommodate wheelchairs?

We have dedicated spaces for up to four wheelchairs at each performance.  They are just outside the grandstands themselves (but still sheltered by the canopy) beside the end seats of the front rows.  They are shown as squares, rather than circles, on TicketSource's Seating Plan.  We have withheld from sale (until 30 June) the outer end seats on the front rows for anyone accompanying a wheelchair user.  If you call 01285 898 019 as above we will be pleased to book the seats for you (we can take payment by card) and to issue a Disabled Parking Pass if you need one.

Are there lavatories on site?

We have two special lavatory trailers and there is a single Disabled Toilet.

Will there be any refreshments?

During the interval coffees, teas, etc. are available in the Refreshment Marquee.  We are not licensed to sell alcohol, but you are welcome to bring your own to accompany your picnic.

What time will the performance end?

The curtain (if we had one!) should come down at approximately 10:00 pm.

What is meant by 'Senior'?

Anyone over the national retirement age

What is meant by 'Student', 'U18' and 'U16'?

A student is anyone in full-time education, irrespective of age.  U18 and U16 mean eighteen-and-under and sixteen-and-under respectively.

Will the performance be cancelled if it rains?

In thirty years we have only cancelled one performance because of the weather, and that was due to the flash-floods on the Friday night in 2007.  Only half the cast and only one-in-ten of the audience could reach the site.

Can I have a refund if I decide not to come?

We can only offer refunds once every seat for that performance has been sold.

Can I bring my dog?

We're afraid not.  Only guide-dogs can be permitted on site.
