Auditions

Come along to Quenington Village Hall (see below) either on Thursday 1 October between 7.30 and 9.30 pm or on Sunday 4 October between 2.30 and 5.00 pm.

We are keen to give as many people as possible the chance to be in this exciting show.  As well as Prospero, the central character, and the ten other speaking roles listed below (each with between 100 and 200 lines), we are looking for a host of spirits, of any age and gender, to make music, create magic, perform the masque, and generally set the scene.

Auditions are open to all.  If you would like to audition, please prepare two pieces (around 10-20 lines) of Shakespeare, at least one of which should be from this play.  You do not need to memorise them, but you should be familiar enough with them to be able to get the sense across, and to be able to try alternative interpretations.  Some suggestions for audition pieces can be downloaded here.  At the audition, you will be asked to perform one or both of your pieces, and may then be asked to perform them again in a different way.  Most auditions will last around 10 minutes.

If you are unable to attend either of the scheduled auditions, please contact the Artistic Director, Jonathan Vickers, preferably by mid-September, at [email protected] or on 07977 499 926, to arrange a separate time.

An audition form can be downloaded here.

We shall be taking all necessary precautions to avoid virus transmission.  We shall advise on any specific restrictions nearer the date.
