1991: The Merry Wives of Windsor

The Cotswold Arcadians' inaugural production, in June 1991, was The Merry Wives of Windsor.  It was set in period and directed by David Gaylor for what, today, seems an unbelievably small amount of money - of the order of £600.

While exposing the follies of Middle England circa 1590 in a spirited way, we were able to throw Falstaff into a real river.  Now, you didn't get that at the National Theatre!

Here at the Quenington Old Rectory, life had begun for the Cotswold Arcadians.
