This year's production will be
directed by Jonathan Vickers.
Our Director for 2008,
Jonathan Vickers, has been involved with the theatre since
childhood. He has acted in all kinds of theatre, from Greek tragedy
to contemporary comedy, and from serious classics to the theatre of
the absurd.
He has performed and directed in a
variety of locations, from village halls to college cloisters, and
from a Welsh Abbey to the Young Vic. His directing credits include
plays by Ibsen, Etherege, Miller, Fry, Priestley, Stoppard and of
course Shakespeare. In recent years, he has been working with
Chavenage Productions, who also stage Shakespeare outdoors each
summer, most recently appearing in ‘The Taming of the Shrew’,
‘Pericles’ and ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. He was assistant
director for their production of ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ in 2002,
and directed ‘As You Like It’ for them in 2003.
