Macbeth

Sue Baxter's 2011 production of Macbeth will be the first time she has worked with the Cotswold Arcadians although she is by no means a newcomer to the theatre. She trained at Central School of Speech and Drama, is currently Head of Drama at St Gabriel's in Newbury and has been involved in theatre as an actor and as a director since the early 1970s.

Sue has 'hung up her boots' as an actor (probably – but she's not good at resisting temptation!) to concentrate on directing. She has worked for a range of companies and her credits include material from Aristophanes to Orton, from The Beggar's Opera to Peter Pan, from new writing to Shakespeare and from one-man shows to a 30-strong production of The Crucible for Oxford Theatre Guild at the Oxford Playhouse.

For many years she has been involved with open-air shows with the Riverside Players, whose repertoire has included Shakespeare and other classics.

Sue Baxter

She is on the committee of several theatre companies, is an artistic director of StopGap Theatre Company and is on the steering committee of the Shakespeare Schools Festival. Her half-hour abridgement of The Comedy of Errors was performed as part of the 2009 Festival.

Forthcoming productions include an outdoor production of A Midsummer Night's Dream for the Riverside Players at Windsor in August 2010.
