~ How The Cotswold Arcadians Works ~

The Cotswold Arcadians is a Company limited by Guarantee and is registered in England and Wales as Number 5116756. It is run by a Management Committee consisting of a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and others who are elected at the AGM or co-opted by the Committee. Following our AGM in October 2009, the committee for 2009/10 comprises:

The Cotswold Arcadians is a not-for-profit organisation. Nobody is paid fees or a salary but all - the Chairman, Director, actors, stage-hands and car park assistants - help because they enjoy being a part of it.

In April/May each year potential Directors are invited to submit ideas for a play they would like to produce the following year, with a description of their proposals for staging. The group discusses with each potential Director his or her choice of play and its treatment, and it is the group that decides the choice of play and Director. 

The Committee holds meetings throughout the year to arrange and monitor the auditions, the design of publicity material, the printing of tickets, the management of mailing lists, and the many other activities, not least of which is attracting new members to the group.

Expenses are carefully managed and controlled in such a manner that, after retaining from ticket sales the reserves necessary to finance the next production, any surplus is donated to charity.
